Privacy & terms

What Money Ledger is

A personal money tracker. You enter what you spend and earn, by hand, by importing a bank statement, or by texting a Google Voice number, and it shows you where the money goes. It is offered free, as it is, with no promise that it fits your situation or is free of mistakes. Check important numbers against your bank.

What is stored

We do not ask for, and do not want, your bank login, card numbers or account numbers. If a statement line contains such a number, edit it out before you import it.

Where it lives and who can see it

Data is kept in a database hosted by Supabase, protected by a rule that every row belongs to one person and the database refuses anyone else. There is no "admin view" of your entries in the app. The person running Money Ledger can reach the database for maintenance and will not look at your ledger beyond what fixing a problem you report requires.

Nothing is sold, shared, or used for advertising. There is no tracking or analytics of any kind.

Text messages (optional)

If you set up the text-message option, a small script runs inside your own Google account, reads the emails Google Voice sends you for each text, and adds them to your ledger using your Money Ledger sign-in. Your texts never pass through anyone else's server. You can remove the script from your Google account at any time.

On your device

Your browser keeps you signed in and remembers small preferences (theme, a few display choices). Installing the app on your phone keeps a copy of the app's own files for faster loading; it does not store your entries offline. No advertising cookies.

Leaving

Settings → Data & privacy → Export lets you download everything you have entered. Settings → Your sign-in → Delete my account removes your sign-in and every row you own, immediately and for good.
